Since we went to the dells for Annika’s Birthay we decided to go to Mammoth cave for mine. Saturday after I got done with work, we got on the road and headed East. we didn’t drive all the way, I didn’t want to be on the road all night but we were about an hour away. Friday night (8/09) Annika had freshman orientation at the high school. So we picked her up at 7 pm with burgers from Culver’s and headed north. We got checked in around 11 and crashed. 6/14 – The travel day of all travel days…up at 3:00 am (all times local): car arrived on time at 3:25 got to the airport around 4:25. The place was Packed. But didn’t take long to get through security. Left at 6:30 from Luton. ~3-hour flight, Landed back in Iceland at 8:15. http://bit.ly/2KlY3h7

6/10 – planes, trains, and automobiles…a Travel day. We started out in the Isle of Skye at 8:15 headed to London. We stopped a few times but drove for 6 hours. We did have a great view of Glencoe while we had lunch. Got to Glasgow got the car returned and our flight was delayed. There was a strike of some kind at the airport but the airline says that we were effected by weather. http://bit.ly/2RiDRx6

6/7 -We left Edinburgh in the morning and headed to Stirling caslte. We had a really informative tour guide there. Then we headed to Culloden battlefield, and learned more about the Jacobite revolution, and the end of the clans. 6/8 – we drove to the Isle of Skye today and along the way, we saw Loch Ness and the castle from Highlander and other films. The weather was good so we took advantage and hiked up to the old man of Storr. Had dinner in Portree and then drove the single lane road to our bed and breakfast. http://bit.ly/2RjUKrt

6/4 – Today was a travel day. We left Iceland in the morning and flew to London. Got a car and drove to York. We walked to dinner (Yorkshire pudding) saw the Roman walls and York minster. On the walk back to the room we got caught in a small rain. http://bit.ly/2WJYIdR

6/5 – We spent the morning in York. We toured the york minster and saw a peregrine falcon outside. Looked at the shops in ‘the shambles’ the inspiration for Diagon Alley in Harry Potter, picked up some lunch at a bakery and some fresh fruit in the market.
